Britains descent in to madness.

It seems the Brexit campaign was won by an ad that looked like the beginning of dad’s army and quotes from films. After the Brexit vote I think, me, and many other people who voted remain went through the 5 stages of
grief.  Like many others, I went to bed on the 22nd thinking I will wake up to remain victory, but instead woke up to a leave victory. I woke up in not believing the vote, what turned in to anger at the outcome. Then I finally accepted that, we will come out (eventually).

After the Brexit vote David Camron (the one who got us in to this mess) decided to resign, rather than seeing it through. That trigged a Tory leadership elec
tion, where Theresa May (former home Secretary) won. She subsequently appointed Boris Jonson and Andrea Leadsom, both her leadership rivals.

Boris Jonson, she appointed to foreign Secretary and Andrea Leadsom to Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. Theresa May told her other leadership rival Michael Gove. (former Secretary of State for Education) and George Osborne (former Chancellor of the Exchequer) to go and sit on the naughty step, on the back benches.

While the Tory leadership election was going on. some labour party rebels decided to try and oust, there democratically elected leader Jeremy Corbyn, who inspired thousands of new people to become members of the labour party to vote for him. These labour rebels, triggered a coup against Jeremy Corbyn. Then when the result didn’t go there way, the Labour rebels triggered a leadership election. between Jeremy Corbyn and Owen smith.  On 24 September 2016 at the labour party Conference, Jeremy Corbyn won by 313,209 votes to Owen Smiths 193,229 votes. Jeremy Corbyn also inspired more people to register as members and vote for him

General elections

A General election is a vote run at least, every five years to elect a new government. (The last election was held on 7 may 2015, where the conservative party won).

Everyone in the UK who is registered to vote can have a say in choosing the next government. One Member of Parliament (MP) is elected from each of the UK's parliamentary constituencies. the candidate who gets more votes, than becomes an MP.  This is called first past the post. When the  MPs have been chosen, the leader of the largest political party gets asked to form a government.

The next General election is in 2020

Its the final count down !

I have been watching the EU referendum campaign over the last couple of months with interest.
I set up this blog to try and give a nonbiased view on the EU referendum, and to involve more people with disabilities. With one day to go before voting, I think it will be a good chance to give my view point and how I will be voting.
So here it goes ………….

immigration
On immigration. I think immigration does a lot for this country. Most of are NHS workers are migrants, and this rubbish the leave campaign is putting out about the NHS at braking point, because of the influx of migrant patients, is wrong and nasty. I Donte believe immigration will destroy are NHS, a British exit from the EU will destroy the NHS. I believe the leave campaign especially UKIP, have baste all their hopes on playing on the general public’s fear of the influx of immigration is nasty politics.
The economy
The economy issue, to me it’s quite important. We already have the single market, that is trade throughout the EU without any tariffs. Also most jobs are linked to trading with the EU.  Of course it will be good to trade elsewhere and get more free trade agreements, but I don’t think we will be able to get an as good deal, if any outside the EU.  (Why give up the deal we already have??)

As a country
I believe, even if we leave the EU we will lose sovereignty. Sooner or later we may make a new deal elsewhere to stable the economy, that may demand much more from the UK.  Also I believe if we come out the EU, the government will become harsher and make more cuts, to vital services just to balance the books. I believe if we stay in the EU, we will have more of an influent on important   issues on the world stage

In my opinion.
The leave campaign ran its own project fear, by playing on people’s fear of immigration and the destroying NHS. Also I believe the leave campaign saying that turkey is going to join the EU imminently, is the biggest red herring (sideshow) going. It’s just to draw people away from the issue that the leave campaign, has no real idea of what will happen if we do come out.  I think staying        in the EU will be better for jobs, the NHS, the economy and we will be a better outward facing country, who can make a real difference on the world stage, as part of the EU. So I will be voting to remain.

Remember this decision will affect your future.
This decision will affect the future of the younger generation the most

Please feel free to disagree. but be respectful, everybody’s entitled to their own opinion

Quick question

So on the EU referendum, who's in or out ?

Don't panic !

In my opinion the two campaigns, in and out the EU have been rubbish.
Boris Johnsons comparing the rise of the EU to the exploits of Napoleon and Hitler suggests that he imagines himself as the reincarnation of Winston Churchill.   But at least what Boris Johnson lacks in sanity he makes up for in excitement.  David Cameron on the other hand equally prone to exaggeration continues to sound half hearted. at least the leave campaign  has the sense to try and contain Mr Farage to his swamp.

what I want to do with this post is try and put my of view across. by looking at the positive side of in or out

for the European union
this is what i think
  • The European union has helped to keep peace in Europe for 60 years
  • it is easier to do business, live and go on holiday in the EU. Because of no passport control
  • Being a part of the European union means we will be stronger economically, by having access to Europe's single market.
  • We will have more of a say on European issues e.g migrant crises.
  • There is no doubt that the European union is growing, and immigration is high. but i believe immigration helps the economy. also being part of  Europe means we can stand up to bigger economic countries, meaning if a country pops a trade embargo on as Briton and the whole of Europe can do the same to them. but this is what i think.

Against the European union

its unclear what will happen, but hear is what i think
  • We can make triad deals elsewhere. probably more free-trade with the commonwealth countries
  • The money the UK spends on EU membership. can be spent elsewhere.

Why I got in to politics

I have always been interested in history, since the age of 7. This came after playing games like age of empire, that focus around the, stoneage to the Roman empire, the dark age and the middle ages and the colonial age. (This was not the most historically accurate set of games J)
When the time came to taking my G.C.S.Es at school. I never had the option to take history as a G.C.S.E.
After that I started studying world war 2. After that I started looking at the cold war and the different ideologies like, socialism, capitalism and communism, the politics at the time. While doing that I watch things like BBC news and listen to debates on LBC radio. After I finished college, I started studying popular protest like the chartist movement, at the open university. While studying at the OU, the European referendum started.
A couple of nights after the start of the European referendum started, I went to a debate hosted by momentum. While listening to the debate, it came to me on how little people with learning difficulties are represented in politics, (I have always felt people with learning difficulties are brushed aside once finishing school and thought of as being second class citizens.)  Maybe it’s because people with learning difficulties haven’t been educated about voting and don’t know anything about politics, so they don’t vote. In my opinion this benefits the government, by not having many people with learning difficulties. Being represented in politics, means the government can keep cutting social security like mental health and PPI.
After this I started looking at a group called LearningDisability England and hope to make contact with them soon.

So I set up this blog hoping to give a non-bias view on politics and encourage people to vote.
